To Dr. Bill Stein and the staff of Northwest Dentistry,

I just thought I would drop you a line and let you know what a wonderful job I think you are doing on Northwest Dentistry. Your January-February 2006 issue was outstanding. I have watched this journal develop over the years steadily to where now it is absolutely first rate. And although you have certainly had many fine issues in the past, I thought your latest edition was perhaps your finest. Dr. Gary Anderson and Dr. D. Brad Rindal’s article on Evidence-Based Dentistry and Dr. Michael Osterholm’s perspectives on Avian Influenza put together by Dr. Nelson Rhodus were superb. That article by Dr. Peter N. Cannon was very moving. The articles by Robyn Thomason and Dr. Jack Churchill were both informative and well constructed. The article by my old friend Dr. Bob Uppgaard on TMJ terminologies was — well, what can I say — typically Bob. And of course your insightful editorial “Blog This!” was right on the mark. Thank you for “holding the line”. Of course, that is what I would expect from a person of your character. You’ve always been a stand-up guy. Keep up the great work!

Yours truly,
Terrance J. Spahl, D.D.S.
