Hazardous Waste Seminar Materials
As the Hazardous Waste Compliance deadline fast-approaches, the following materials may assist offices with waste management and guidelines. This information was also made available at the seminar: "Dental Clinic Management of Hazardous Waste: Surviving a Hazardous Waste Inspection."
New! Children's Oral Health Initiative
Although there has been progress in reducing dental caries in children and adults, younger children
(ages 2-5) actually experienced an increase in caries during recent years. The good news is that dental caries can be prevented by having young children get their first oral exam no later than one year. To assist general dentists with preparing for and conducting infant exams, the MDA recently purchased an instructional kit that is now available to members free of charge. Oral Health Care for Nursing Home and
Long Term Care Residents
Often times patients that reside in nursing homes or long-term care facilities find it difficult to access proper dental care. This video discusses how facilities can address this issue and may help dentists determine what services they could provide to LTC residents in their communities. Click here for more information.
MDA Annual Awards of Excellence
The Minnesota Dental Association honored five Minnesota dental leaders at the 2010 Star of the North Meeting for their many contributions and excellence in dentistry. The recipients were honored by over 9,000 dental professionals in attendance at the annual convention, held at St. Paul's RiverCentre. To read more about each honoree, click here.
