Planning your Give Kids a Smile event

Resources, materials and a helping hand are all available

For the uninitiated, the prospect of hosting a Give Kids a Smile event might seem daunting. But it needn’t be. Under the guidance of dental offices across the state, the MDA has created helpful a step-by-step Participation Kit (PDF) that will walk you through the planning process and provide you with many helpful materials – from a sample patient reminder mailer to scheduling ideas.

If you have questions

Volunteers are happy to talk with you about planning for Give Kids a Smile. They also have some helpful hints that may come in handy for you. Just call the MDA at 612-767-8400 to ask for a list of fellow dental professionals who could help you with planning questions.

Certificate of volunteer service

Dental professionals may wish to track volunteer service hours, which may now be applied as elective CE credits toward the new Minnesota Board of Dentistry CE/Professional Development requirements. To help them document their participation in GKAS, the MDA has provided this simple Volunteer Certificate.
