Jack Daughtery, Carissa Knutson and John Bengston

Drs. John Bengtson (1964), Jack Daugherty (1969), and Carissa Knutson (1999) all answered an advertisement in Northwest Dentistry to work as contract dentists in Germany at Grafenwohr Army Base. The three are employed by TCMP Health Services, which is headquartered in Virginia. The dental coordinator for all of Europe is Dr. Carney Middelton, who is also a 1972 University of Minnesota School of Dentistry graduate. TCMP Health Services places approximately 85 dentists and hygienists throughout Germany and Italy, creating lots of opportunities to serve our military.

The three Minnesota dentists work alongside military dentists in a 31-chair modern dental clinic. There are 12-16 general dentists depending upon military rotations and deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as an oral surgeon, periodontist, prosthodontist, endodontist, orthodontist, and pedodontist.

“We all consider it a great privilege to work on our brave soldiers who keep America the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave,” states Dr. Bengtson. The three also enjoy traveling throughout Germany and around Europe to the many beautiful countries which surround them.
