Mission of Mercy comes to Bemidji June 14-15
The Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation are once again teaming up to host the second Mission of Mercy event this June in Bemidji. Plans are well underway, with active volunteer recruitment taking place at this time. All dental professionals are encouraged to participate by volunteering time on the treatment days of Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15. In addition, assistance will be needed for setting up the massive dental clinic at The Sanford Center in Bemidji on Thursday, June 13. Registration takes only a few moments and can be completed online by visiting www.mndental.org/mnmom
In addition, please encourage family and friends to volunteer as well. Many lay volunteer jobs are available for patient greeting, registration, escorting, and translation (Spanish, Somali, and American Sign Language). The Northwestern District is hosting this year’s MOM event in hopes of reaching the underserved population in their geographic area. Leading the charge in the Northwestern District are Dr. John Lueth (Bemidji), Dr. Roger Sjulson (Fosston), and Dr. Doug Williams (Bemidji), along with the very welcome assistance of their wives!
In their new leadership roles, the team has taken on many of the local organizational and promotional activities so critical to the success of a Mission of Mercy, including numerous logistics with The Sanford Center and local hotels, community outreach, and sponsor recruitment. Bemidji looks forward to hosting the Mission of Mercy and showcasing its beautiful city to all attendees. See you up North!
