Anthony D. Romano, D.D.S., passed away May 13, 2013. He was 85. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia, and daughters Cathryn Larson, Mary Beth Romano Smith, Ann Romano Jarvis, Geralyn Romano, Patty Jensen, brother Donald, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, special nephew Larry Baker, and many other relatives.
Dr. Romano was born February 25, 1928, in Duluth, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948. Tony graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1954. Along with his own private practice in Pine City, he was a faculty member of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry for 39 years. He was as well a leader in many dental organizations.
Dr. Romano was a lifelong researcher in archeology, and he published numerous papers in the field. To honor Tony’s lifelong passion for archeology, the family has requested memorials be directed to the Duluth Archeology Center.
