The Editors:

It seems like just yesterday that charming young family was in with the little ones, so who are these tall reticent strangers arranging themselves in your chair?  Even as the hairs go up on the back of your neck, your professional consciousness says, "What we have here is a ...teenager."  No more, no less.  No prisoners.  Keeping the "management" in dental management on the front burner is an ongoing task for every practicing dentist, and that includes staying connected with the current who/what/where/how and why of adolescent oral health needs.  Our cover feature provides practicing dentists with background on today's adolescent and this phase of development to focus on a unique gateway for promoting positive oral health behaviors.
