Choosing a Dentist

The Minnesota Dental Association believes that everyone should have a “dental home,” a place where you and your family know you can get the dental care you need from dental professionals you can trust. Finding a dentist you feel comfortable with is sometimes as easy as looking in the telephone book (or looking on the Internet), or getting a recommendation from a friend. In any case, you and your dentist share the responsibility for helping to keep your mouth healthy. There are things to think about before you decide on a dentist, along with questions you should ask.

Tips for choosing a dentist

Find a Minnesota Dental Association Member Dentist

Suppose you can’t find a dentist...

Not everyone has dental benefits (commonly called “dental insurance”) through an employer, and those who are unemployed face even greater problems getting necessary dental care. Sometimes there are language barriers, transportation difficulties, or simply no dentists close by. The Minnesota Dental Association is committed to lending a helping hand to those in need. The information below can help you find free or sliding scale clinics, as well as special programs sponsored by the Minnesota Dental Association for children and for elderly, disabled or medically compromised individuals.
