Retiring? Contact the MDA to update your membership! The end of the calendar year often brings thoughts of retirement. Minnesota Dental Association members who have retired from the practice of dentistry can receive MDA benefits at a fraction of the cost of active membership. To qualify for retired membership, dentists must no longer earn an income of any kind by means of their dental license. Dentists must also submit an affidavit for retired membership to the MDA.
If you’re retiring and wish to change your membership status, please email Dawn Jensen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-800-950-3368, ext. 103.
It is membership renewal time! Your 2013 membership dues statement should have arrived in the last week. The MDA hopes that you will continue to be a member in 2013 and return your dues payment as soon as possible so that we can begin 2013 with a strong membership base. As an extra incentive, we will be entering the names of those members who pay their full dues by check into a drawing for a $200.00 Visa gift card. To be eligible for the gift you must have your check, written out for the full dues amount, in to the MDA office by January 1, 2013. For those of you who have already renewed your membership, thank you! You will receive your membership renewal packet in January.

ADA alerts members to watch for spam email Spam email messages, that look like they are from the ADA, were distributed over the weekend to an unknown number of ADA members and others within the dental community. The ADA warns that if you’ve received one of these messages, do not open it and do not try to click any links within it - doing so may infect your computer with a virus or seek personal information.

Register your clinic for Give Kids a Smile Statewide, 147 clinics have registered to host a "Give Kids a Smile" event on February 1 and 2. Thanks to each and every clinic, many of which are new this year! Not sure if your clinic is registered? Just take a look at this list of hosting clinics. To add your clinic to the list, register at regonline.com/gkas-mn. (Please note: If you registered with the ADA this fall to request product, you also need to register with the MDA. The registrations are separate.) The more hosting clinics we have in Minnesota, the more children we can help. And many hosting clinics will need help from individuals or teams willing to pitch in for a few hours. You can learn about the many options for volunteering when you register. Feel free to drop us a note at email@example.com with any questions. Thank you!
