The MDA has produced a video to demonstrate the devastating effect that cuts to public dental health programs are having on underserved Minnesotans and the dental clinics that have been committed to serving them. The eleven-minute video features dental clinics in both urban and rural settings and highlights the range of services that are affecting patients, from limited annual exams and periodontal treatments to denture repairs. Featured in the video are Dr. Vacharee Peterson (Community Dental Care, Maplewood), Dr. Michael Helgeson (AppleTree Dental, Coon Rapids), Dr. Mike Flynn (Lewiston), Dr. John Lueth (Bemidji), and Dr. Dan Rose (Pillager). Also featured in the video are several patients, representing the unemployed, handicapped and elderly patients that are most affected by cuts to adult dental benefits and the Critical Access Dental Payment Program.
