Over the past few months you have seen many changes and new faces at the School of Dentistry and in the dental profession. In order to help answer the questions and ease the transitions, the MDA is opening the October 28th Connection Conference (previously known as Leadership Conference), which is normally available to district and committee leaders only, to the entire membership. The MDA feels this conference can benefit all members, as many in leadership positions have benefitted by learning from key speakers on the hot topics in Minnesota. This conference will primarily discuss the issues of recordkeeping, and the goal is to make sure dentists know the proper way to document patient charts.
I am also asking you to consider serving your profession and get involved. It is easy to say “they don’t need me” or “someone else will take that position.” The truth is, the MDA needs you and your ideas! This is a great opportunity to meet the leadership from the state and district levels and truly discuss and debate what is on your mind. Too many members voice their opinions and then sit back and wait to see what happens – we are looking for people willing to take action. The MDA is only as strong as its volunteers, and I know the more people who get involved, the more perspective we gather, the better we will become as an association.
