A few months ago the Minnesota Legislature nearly closed the five remaining state-operated dental clinics that serve the most vulnerable populations—those who are developmentally delayed, significantly physically or mentally challenged. To ward off imminent closure, the Legislature mandated that the Department of Human Services form a task force to look for credible, current information that would lead to feasible solutions. Dr. Dan Rose, has been appointed to that task force and asks for your help as described below.
No one really knows the number of general dentists who provide care to this compromised population group. It is known that many dentists provide episodic care in their offices, however, it is unknown how many provide comprehensive treatment, how many refer and whether such referrals are reasonably available to patients.
This is where YOUR information is greatly needed! Please take a minute or two to answer the questions below. Your responses will be kept in confidence and survey results will be reported only in the aggregate. Please respond no later than September 17th.
