The Minnesota Dental Association is committed to working on behalf of its members to help enact key legislation that affects the practice of dentistry. As a leading force in our state's public policy debates, the MDA believes the dental profession and its success affects the state's health. Our highest priorities are to advance the dental profession and to enhance access and quality dental care for patients.
Legislative activities are coordinated by our Legislative Affairs Committee and supported by Director of Government Affairs and two veteran contract lobbyists Dominic Sposeto. Review current and past legislative issues here.

2012 House of Delegates: Resolution A2
Ownership of Dental Practices: Directed the MDA to study the North Carolina legislative experience related to DMSO arrangements, educate the broader community about DMSOs, and work with the American Dental Association and other interested parties to develop a glossary of terms describing the different models of dental practice, especially regarding financial and clinical decision-making.
The MDA also advocates on behalf of members to fight unwarranted regulations and seek clarification on existing regulations. Working with the State’s regulatory agencies, the MDA can provide your office with the information and tools needed to remain compliant and be prepared for an audit. Bridgett Anderson, Regulatory Affairs Manager, leads the Regulatory Affairs initiatives.
