Volunteers are central to the collegial future of the SPDDS. When you volunteer, your time and expertise allows the SPDDS to provide essential information and industry-specific education through our Midwinter Meetings and CE events that we all value so highly.

The Nominating Committee is looking for members interested in serving on the Executive Council are asked to submit a nomination form to begin a three-year term in May 2021. We rely on members with the skills, passion, and varied perspectives to build a forward-thinking, inclusive, and strategic governing Executive Council.

Not sure if you’d like to serve on the Executive Council, but would like to get involved? Email the SPDDS and we can provide more details and answer any additional questions you may have. If volunteering on a committee, the amount of time you invest will be up to you – some committees meet no more than quarterly and some meet more often.

The deadline for submitting your nomination is Wednesday, December 16.

Summary of the Roles

The role of every council member is threefold; to approve organizational direction, ensure necessary resources, and provide oversight. Serving on the board is both an honor and a compliment to you as a professional. The qualities sought after in council members are the desire to ask powerful questions, to listen for understanding, to gauge what and when to probe and to appreciate conversation over conflict.

Time Expectations

The Executive Council generally meets on a monthly basis in-person for an hour and a half with a recess in the summer. The meetings take place at the MDA Offices in Minneapolis.
