PANELISTS & TOPICS
Each panelist will have a half hour presentation, followed at the end by time for Q&A’s and general discussion.

Kacie Woodis, D.D.S.

Dr. Kacie Woodis is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she works closely with students in the clinic and teaches classes on dental documentation, coding, and billing. She also shares her expertise by leading faculty development sessions on these topics. A proud graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Woodis combines her academic training and real-world experience to support both student learning and the growth of best practices in dental education and administration.

Hillary Becchetti, JD

Hillary Harms Becchetti grew up in the world of dentistry. Both of her parents were dentists and she has spent her entire life surrounded by the dental profession. It is no surprise that she decided to focus solely on dental transactions. Hillary is the owner and founder of Pine Lake Dental Law and Transitions, a full service law and transition firm that counsels and represents dentists. She is a licensed attorney in Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota.


Joyce Nelson, LDA, CDAKara Kramer, MA

Ms. Nelson is a state licensed and nationally certified dental assistant. She has worked for the Minnesota Board of Dentistry since June 2000 and formally held the position of Director of Licensing from 2009 through March 2023. Since 2023 Ms. Nelson has served as the Director of Complaints/Compliance. She directly supports the Board’s Practitioner Review Committee that has delegated authority to investigate all complaint matters. Ms. Nelson along with her staff are actively involved in upholding the board’s mission of promoting and protecting public health and safety.

Kara Kramer, MA

Ms. Kramer started with the Board of Dentistry in 2023 as an Investigator for the Practitioner Review Committee. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in criminal justice with a concentration in Forensic Science. She was previously employed as a Death Investigator for 6 years with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. She recently became a CLEAR certified investigator and continues to expand her knowledge of Dentistry in her current role.
