Forensic Odontology – What We All Should Know

Dr. Daniel E. Rose has served on the local, district, and state level of the Minnesota Dental Association and has practiced general dentistry for over thirty-five years. He currently provides hospital dentistry for patients with special needs at Lakewood Hospital, Staples, Minnesota. In this presentation, Dr. Rose will cover the history of Forensic Odontology and review the forensic dentist’s responsibilities regarding: Dental identification, bitemark analysis, age estimation, missing and unidentified persons, human abuse, jurisprudence and expert witness testimony, mass disaster victim identification, and a brief discussion on how dental personnel can become involved in forensic odontology.
